Terre Haute Indiana - A Terre Haute couple was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital after
their truck was hit by a train Saturday in southeast Vigo County.
At 8 p.m., an engineer of Canadian Pacific Railway said they were running about 30 miles per hour when they saw a truck, which was
driven by Kenneth Hasler, approaching the crossing.
The train was at Singhurst Street south of Dallas Drive. Although the train's horn was blowing, bell was ringing and headlights were
flashing, the truck did not stop and the train hit the front passenger side, according to a Vigo County Sheriff's Department news
release.
Kenneth Hasler was treated and released at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. His passenger, Betty Hasler, was listed in fair condition
Sunday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Both were wearing their seat belts and no citations were given, police said.
