Third Derailment Lawsuit Settled
Minneapolis Minnesota - Attorneys for Minot residents Warren and Rebecca Howell and the
Canadian Pacific Railway told Judge Tony Leung in Minneapolis this morning that they've reached a confidential settlement.
It's the last of three lawsuits scheduled to be heard this week involving the 2002 derailment that sent a cloud of anhydrous ammonia
over Minot.
Settlements also have been reached in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the widow of John Grabinger, who died after the derailment,
and lawsuits filed by Henry and Linda Juntunen and their son, Joey.
Terms of the settlements have not been released.
Leung is scheduled to hear six more cases in January - among hundreds that were filed.
