Woman Killed by Train in Alliston
Alliston Ontario - A 37-year-old woman was
killed last night just before 9:30 p.m. after she was struck by a southbound train on a section of track near Nelson and Dufferin
Street.
Emergency crews - police, fire and ambulance - responded. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
A post mortem was scheduled for today. Foul play is not suspected.
The victim's name is not being released. There were no further details available for publication.
The death comes one week after an Alliston resident living in a new subdivision near the CP line asked New Tecumseth councillors to ask
CP to cease or scale back the train whistle at night through Alliston.
There was no action taken.
