Mock Collision in Moose Jaw
Moose Jaw Saskatchewan - Local emergency crews and the CPR
stage mock collision to practice what to do in the event of a real crash involving a train.
There's no need to be alarmed today if you see a bunch of flashing lights and emergency vehicles flying down the street around 9:30
Wednesday morning. Local firefighters, EMS, police, the Union Hospital and the CPR are all taking part in a mock disaster to practice
their response procedures.
Fire Inspector Greg Reeves says the training exercise will cause some commotion around 9:30 in the CP Railway yards. "The scenario
is a passenger bus, a tour bus, collides with a train".
And from there, the emergency response plan will kick into high gear. Several volunteers from local high schools will be simulating
casualties.
Again, local emergency response teams will be taking part in an exercise around 9:30 Wednesday morning at the CP Rail
yards.
