The CPR 2816 Empress steam locomotive passed through Kamloops
Friday on a round-trip run from Calgary to Vancouver. Refurbished for service in 2001, the locomotive, built in 1930, now
runs to raise money for local charities, and for private charters. The Empress is one of the few remaining fully operational steam
locomotives in North America.
