CPR Holiday Train Ready to Chug Our Way
Revelstoke British Columbia - The annual Canadian Pacific
Railway Holiday Train will be rolling into Revelstoke on 15 Dec 2006 at about 8:45 p.m., says CPR spokesman Ed Greenberg.
"The Canadian train, which will again be loaded with brightly coloured Christmas lights, features a new and exciting show this
year with Wide Mouth Mason and Lisa Brokop headlining the cross-Canada journey that starts on 1 Dec 2006 and
goes until 19 Dec 2006," he said in an statement last week.
"Right now, 70 communities in Canada will experience the Holiday Train magic and these don't include the many unscheduled stops
the train will make to entertain people along the way."
CP Rail annually sends two trains across Canada and the United States in support of community food banks. This is the eighth year the
Holiday Train will be taking to the rails for local food banks, with its message of hope and community support. Since 1999, the
Holiday Train program has raised over $2.4 million and close to 1.3 million pounds of food for North American food banks. In 2005
alone, more than $500,000 and 454,022 pounds of food were raised by concerned Canadians and Americans. All donations collected in a
community remain in that community for local distribution.
