Service Resumes After West-End Train Derailment
Toronto Ontario - CP Rail says freight service will
resume by about 6 p.m. on tracks where 12 cars of a freight train derailed early Friday in Toronto's west end.
The cars were carrying grain and some of the cargo spilled, but there were no injuries reported.
The derailment happened around 5 a.m.
CP Rail spokesman Ed Greenberg says it is too early to speculate on a cause.
A local businessman said crews were working on the tracks Thursday, but Greenberg says the work was regular maintenance and nothing
that would alter the tracks.
Greenberg added that other freight services were not affected because CP was using other routes to move
cargo.
