Mission British Columbia - A wrong turn spelled disaster
for a Mission woman shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
The 41-year-old was a passenger in her Pontiac Sunfire when, according to Ridge Meadows RCMP media liaison Dan
Herbranson, the vehicle's driver took a wrong turn at 274 Street and the Lougheed Highway.
The car they were in wound up getting stuck on the CP Rail tracks. The woman got out of the car and tried to push the car off the
tracks, but to no avail, Herbranson said.
A westbound train smashed into the vacant car, careening it down the tracks before coming to a rest at 272 Street. RCMP are still
investigating the incident. The car was totaled, but there was little damage done to the train. The West Coast Express stayed on
schedule.
