CP Derailment BC Co-Production Trackage
Fraser Canyon British Columbia - On Thursday,
14 Dec 2006 at approximately 22:20 hrs PST, a CP train derailed along the eastbound leg of the CN/CP
co-production main line in B.C.
The site was cleared by 15:00 hrs PST on Friday, 15 Dec 2006. However, some resulting congestion remains in the southern
BC portion of our network and consequently our eastbound traffic between Vancouver and Edmonton continues to be delayed for the time
being.
Additionally, the Vancouver area and southern British Columbia continue to suffer from severe winter weather, most notably high winds,
snowfall and freezing rain, as well as road closures.
Furthermore, a significant power outage reported by BC Hydro has affected many CN locations, as well as customer facilities in the
area.
Customers should expect that shipments scheduled to move into and out of the Vancouver area will be delayed. Although we expect
conditions to improve somewhat over the weekend, the overall congestion and resulting delays may continue for several
days.
