CPR Adds to United Way Pot
Thunder Bay Ontario - Another large donation was made to
Thunder Bay's United Way campaign Friday as Canadian Pacific Railway made its annual contribution.
Campaign chair Alan Kozlo accepted a cheque for $122,000 which represents a joint donation from CPR workers in Thunder Bay and the
town of Schreiber.
Thunder Bay employee chair Randy Mior says employee involvement was instrumental in making the campaign a success.
"I think we had about 75% of our employees donate. We did beat our goal and we beat the amount raised last year, so overall it
was a good campaign."
Kozlo said "We still have a couple weeks to go, still a lot of dollars to come in and we're hoping that the support from the
community will continue but we're extremely pleased by the employee support and corporate support from Canadian Pacific Railway
today."
Kozlo said this donation puts them closer to their goal of $1.98 million dollars and they're still accepting donations up until the
end of the year.
