Siding Construction Takes a Break for Winter
Crowsnest Pass Alberta - Chilly temperatures and lots of
snow have put a temporary halt on the construction of CPR's siding between Blairmore and Coleman.
According to CPR spokesperson Ed Greenberg, the siding is still in the track construction and early preparation phase.
"It is going well, but with winter upon us, it was time to put off (construction). We ceased work until the right construction
period resumes," he explained. "We're not in a rush to get this done because we want to do it properly."
Construction was halted just before the new year, and Greenberg says CPR expects to continue with track construction sometime in
March, with the entire project, including inspections from track and signal experts, completed in April.
