Reaction Mixed to New Stadium Proposal
Vancouver British Columbia - The revised proposal for a waterfront
soccer stadium is being reviewed by the public in a series of open houses starting today.
Reaction to the project is still mixed.
Instead of sitting over the railway tracks, the site of the 15,000 seat facility has been moved to the current Sea Bus terminal, easing
concerns some people had about dangerous goods traveling under the stadium.
But Gastown resident Nancy Zimmerman is still against the proposal, adding that moving the stadium slightly won't reduce the noise and
traffic.
The results of the review process will go to city hall this summer when council decides whether the stadium will proceed to the rezoning
process.
