Royal Hudson Visit is Timed with New 50th-Year Exhibit
White Rock British Columbia - It's 50 years and counting
for the City of White Rock, which keeps the celebration rolling with special events this month.
The Royal Hudson is the star attraction on Sunday, 15 Apr 2006, when the historic train steams into White Rock on its
first journey since the West Coast Railway Association began restoring it in 1999.
This month's trip happens on the exact day White Rock became a municipality in 1957.
Tickets to ride the Royal Hudson are sold out, but official ceremonies, music and entertainment will greet the train upon its arrival
at the former train station on the White Rock waterfront. Festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. and continue until the train's departure for
Vancouver at 3 p.m.
Meanwhile, also on 15 Apr 2006 the White Rock Museum and Archives opens a new exhibit in celebration of the city's 50th
anniversary. The Celebrating 50 Years exhibit takes a look at the city and how it has changed over the past five decades, including
the careers of political leaders and the course of urban development.
Admission to the exhibit is free during its run, from 15 Apr 2006 to 18 Nov 2007 at 14970 Marine Dr. Hours
of operation are Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
