Delta Railway Overpass on the Way for Cambridge
Cambridge Ontario - The Region of Waterloo is on the right
track to alleviating traffic congestion at the rail crossing on Hespeler Road in Cambridge.
The planning and works committee approved the environmental assessment for the 21 million dollar project, which will involve building
an overpass at the tracks near the Delta Centre.
Regional chair Ken Seiling says that section of Hespeler is a huge bottleneck for drivers and emergency vehicles who constantly get
stuck behind shunting trains.
Results of the environmental study will go to the region and the public for approval next.
Seiling says they hope to have the project finished by 2010.
