Pedestrian Survives Collision with CP Rail Train in Olds
Olds Alberta - An 18-year-old Olds man is
lucky to be alive after being hit by a train yesterday afternoon in the Alberta community.
At about 4:10 p.m., RCMP answered a call of a crash involving a northbound CP Rail train and the man, who was walking across the
railway tracks on 50 St. in Olds, about 80 km north of Calgary.
The pedestrian was taken to the local hospital and then transferred to Foothills hospital with non-life threatening
injuries, said Olds RCMP Const. Troy Byrt.
Mounties say the crossing was operating with bells, lights, and a crossing gate at the time of the collision.
An investigation is underway.
