Man Named in Fatal Crash with Train
Pitt Meadows British Columbia - RCMP have released the name
of a man who died in a collision with a Canadian Pacific freight train Tuesday.
Michael Patrick Saur, 48, was driving an older model van when it was struck by a train carrying grain at a grade crossing on Harris
Road in Pitt Meadows.
RCMP Cpl. Ryan Schlecker said the investigation into the incident continues.
According to CP Rail, the train was travelling at the proper speed of 10 miles per hour when it approached the crossing.
Witnesses reported seeing the van drive around the crossing arm once it was down and hearing a loud bang.
