"Morale is Still Good": CPR Strike by Teamsters Union Continues
Moose Jaw Saskatchewan - It's been almost two weeks since
100 Canadian Pacific Railway employees walked off the job in Moose Jaw and there's still no end in sight.
The workers, members of the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference maintenance-of-ways employee division, went on strike
16 May 2007 when contract talks with the company reached a stand-still.
"Morale is still good", said Don Lesuk, strike captain for the local Teamsters chapter. "The guys would prefer to be
back at work, however, we all know when you're striking for anything worthwhile, it doesn't come easy."
Most employees in Moose Jaw have been with CP for over 20 years, but do not have a strike fund and are relying on savings and lines
of credit to see them through.
