Railway Ties Set on Fire
Belleville Ontario - There were some few anxious moments
for Belleville police and railway crews Monday evening after someone torched six or eight railway ties on the CP railway line running
along Dundas Street West.
Police said an earlier train had observed the burning ties and alerted an oncoming train that was able to stop and proceed slowly
through the area.
A works crew was called in to assess the damage and determine whether the ties had to be replaced or repaired.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 613-969-8477.
