City Selling Former CPR Properties to Homeowners
The city approved the sale of eight small parcels of the former
Canadian National Railway right-of-way to abutting property owners Monday.
The pieces of the abandoned railway land along Copeland and Bell streets sold for a total of nearly $30,000, allowing homeowners to
square off their properties.
Mayor Vic Fedeli said the sales are the first of dozens expected as part the city plan for the land, which it bought in 2003 for $1.
The city has said it will offer small chunks of the property to abutting homeowners, with larger pieces to be sold off as serviced
lots.
Editor's Note: So which railway is it? CP or CN?
