Conciliation Officer Appointed to CPR - TCRC Dispute
Elizabeth MacPherson, Director General of Federal Mediation and
Conciliation Services today announced the appointment of Mr. Paul Macdonell as Conciliation Officer to deal with the existing dispute
between Canadian Pacific Rail and Teamsters Canada Rail Conference, (running trades unit).
Pursuant to Section 73(2) of the Labour Code the officer's mandate is subject to extension by the Minister up to 60 days from the date
of appointment. Any extension beyond 60 days (28 Aug 2007) can be made only by mutual consent of the parties.
Meeting dates are presently being discussed and have not yet been finalized.
