Canadian Pacific Announces Strong Second-Quarter Results
Canadian Pacific Railway Limited reported strong
second-quarter results today. Operating income for the second quarter of 2007 was up 9 percent over the same period in
2006 driven by solid revenues.

- Income before foreign exchange gains on long-term debt and other specified items increased 9 percent to $175 million
from $161 million;
- Excluding foreign exchange gains on long-term debt and other specified items, diluted earnings per share increased
12 percent to $1.12 from $1.00;
- Operating ratio improved to 74.7 percent from 75.0 percent;
- Freight revenue increased 8 percent to $1.2 billion.
