Roadwork Wrap-Up
Wednesday marked the grand opening of the
Brock Road crade separation. The joint project of the Region, as well as Canadian Pacific Railway, began in December of
2005.
Pickering Ontario - The Brock Road project, south of
Taunton Road in Pickering, to facilitate a Canadian Pacific Railway grade separation is at the point where the road is open to traffic
underneath the separation.
"We are basically in the later stages of construction," Mr. Trewin said. "Traffic is flowing, the railway is operational,
however there is still some work being done on Old Taunton Road."
All four lanes should be open late in September, he said, with final restoration work, including seeding and sodding, to be completed
this fall.
The biggest problem with the project was vandalism, Mr. Trewin explained, noting on two occasions the bridge was graffitied, which
caused some unnecessary expense for cleaning.
