Pollution Class Action Approved
Calgary Alberta - The Alberta Court of Appeal
yesterday approved a Class Action against Canadian Pacific Railway.
In the action, residents of Calgary are suing CPR for polluting the
ground water beneath their homes - which is causing toxic vapours to come into
their houses.
The most toxic of which is Trichloroethylene (TCE), a known cancer
causing agent.
The residents are claiming several million dollars for diminution in
property values. The case name is Windsor v. CPR.
