Seniors Injured in Train Collision
Winnipeg Manitoba - Two seniors were taken to hospital
after their vehicle collided with a train on the south Perimeter Highway early yesterday morning.
RCMP said the incident occurred about 1:30 a.m. between St. Anne's Road and Lagimodiere Boulevard. The westbound vehicle had extensive
damage but there was no damage to the northbound train, RCMP said.
The two occupants of the vehicle, an 83-year-old man and a 77-year-old female passenger, suffered minor
injuries. Both were taken to Victoria General Hospital by ambulance.
Headingley RCMP Traffic Services and Canadian Pacific Railway police are investigating. RCMP said road conditions and visibility were
factors.
