Canadian Pacific Railway's Windsor
Station - Date/photographer unknown.
Montreal Quebec - Canadian Pacific Railway is one step
closer to selling historic Windsor Station in Montreal.
A company official said Thursday CPR is in negotiations with an interested party but no agreement has been reached.
A Montreal radio station is reporting the historic landmark has been been sold to George Gillett, the owner of the Montreal Canadiens
of the National Hockey League.
Several pieces of real estate are for sale, including the Windsor Station office building and courtyard, the Windsor Tower, and an
interest in the Bell Centre parking garage.
Company spokesman Michel Spenard said CPR will ensure any future purchaser will respect the heritage character of the building.
Windsor Station is a heritage station under the federal Railway Heritage Stations Protection Act and it is also a national historic
site.
