All-Terrain Vehicles Barricaded from Driving on Rail Line Trail
Paradise Nova Scotia - An old rail line trail in Annapolis
County won't be paradise for ATV riders any longer.
Barriers are now in place to prevent off-highway vehicles from accessing the abandoned Dominion Atlantic Railway line
through Paradise, Annapolis County.
Plans to close the trail to motorized vehicles were first announced by the minister of natural resources about two years ago, in
response to concerns from some neighbouring property owners.
The ban will be enforced by Department of Natural Resources officers and the RCMP. Operators who ignore the ban can be charged under
the Crown Lands Act and the Motor Vehicle Act.
The province remains open to working with interested groups to further explore trail options in the area, a
government-issued release said Thursday.
