Two Men Survive Crash with CP Rail Train
Didsbury Alberta - Two men on their way to work slammed
into a CP Rail train hauling 110 sulphur railcars near Didsbury early yesterday.
The impact pushed two cars off the tracks.
The truck was destroyed, but the men inside survived with non-life threatening injuries, said Didsbury RCMP Sgt. Kevin
O'Dwyer.
"They're lucky," he said. "That truck is toast."
The truck hit the slow-moving westbound train at an uncontrolled crossing, 2 km north of Didsbury just before 5 a.m.
O'Dwyer said there are no indications the truck made any efforts to brake.
"He probably didn't see them," O'Dwyer said. "He hit it hard enough to knock it off the
tracks."
