New Windows for Old Station
Portage la Prairie Manitoba - A construction worker for
Winnipeg-based Yarrow Window and Door Specialists puts the finishing touches on a sash fixed window beside the entrance
to the historical Canadian Pacific Railway Station in Portage la Prairie.
The renovations are part of the $40,000 project headed by Portage la Prairie Heritage Inc. to restore the former station, which was
damaged by fire.
With the financial co-operation of the Community Foundation of Portage and District and other fundraising, work has also
started on the installation of wheelchair accessible washrooms inside the building, which is destined to become a railway interpretive
centre.
