New Royal Canadian Mint Silver Coin
A Locomotive Fit for a King and Queen
Climb aboard Canada's great locomtives with this new series of beautifully crafted silver coins.
The first issure in the series features a 4-6-4 ( four leading wheels, six driving
wheels, and four trailing wheels ) Hudson type locomotive that Canadian Pacific had
built in 1938 and which featured a distinctive semi-streamline design.
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth travelled aboard the "2850", a Hudson
type locomotive during their 1939 Royal Visit. The engine was fitted with a stainless steel
boiler jacket and was painted in silver and Royal Blue. It had royal crests on the
front and tender sides and royal crowns on the side running boards. In fact, the eye-catching
locomotive drew almost as much attention as the Royals!
Order from the Royal Canadian Mint - $69.95
Editor's Note: I tried to order online from their web site but their order page would not
function. The order function kept taking me around in circles. Very frustrating, try again Mint.
