Canadian Pacific One of Canada's Top 100 Employers
Canadian Pacific was named to one of the nation's "Top 100
Employers" of the year in a report released on Thursday.
Compiled by Mediacorp Canada, The Top 100 list, reviews recruitment histories of more than 75,000 companies and CP was one of about
15,000 were invited to apply for this prestigious honor and asked to complete an extensive application process that included a detailed
review of their operations and HR practices. The Top 100 Employers are leaders in their respective industries for attracting and
retaining employees.
"We have an incredible variety of employment options at Canadian Pacific for people just entering the job market and for those who
want to make a career move to something other than what they are currently doing," said Andrew Shields,
Vice-president Human Resources and Labour Relations for Canadian Pacific. "I think that makes us attractive to many
people."
CP believes its strong safety culture, benefit and compensation packages for current employees and retirees, training and skills
development opportunities, and many involvements with the public helped it earned a spot on the list, which will get mention in the
current edition of Maclean's magazine. Community Connect initiatives - such as the CP Spirit Train that is, even now, bringing the
Olympic Spirit to communities across its network - give employees a sense of connectedness and pride.
