McPhillips Closed at Rail-Crossing
Winnipeg Manitoba - A portion of McPhillips Street will be
closed this weekend as CP Rail and the City of Winnipeg rebuild a railway crossing.
City spokesman Ken Allen said both northbound and southbound lanes on McPhillips will be blocked between Pacific and Elgin avenues and
will reopen at 7 a.m. Monday.
Allen said the railway crossing is being completely rebuilt, removing old tracks, laying down new tracks, and rebuilding the road
adjacent to the tracks.
He said Pacific Avenue will remain open at McPhillips, but southbound turns will be prohibited. Elgin will be closed at McPhillips.
Alternative routes around the construction zone include Notre Dame, William, and Logan avenues.
