CP Holiday Train Lights Up the Rails Across Six Provinces for Food Banks
Canadian Pacific's 10th annual Holiday Train is now making its way across Canada, wowing crowds and
increasing support for food banks. Canadians from coast to coast can help feed the celebration and show their support of the Holiday
Train's 10th anniversary by increasing their donations at events and by sharing their Holiday Train memories from the past and present
on the internet.
The Holiday Train section of Canadian Pacific's website, www.cpr.ca, is hosting a blog devoted to Holiday Train stories. There is also a link
to the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train Facebook profile where people can become fans, check out pictures,
and share memories.
Since its launch in 1999, the Holiday Train program has raised over $3.56 million and more than 1.8 million pounds of food for North
American charities. All donations collected in a community remain in that community for local distribution.
To commemorate this milestone, Canadian Pacific produced a special 10th anniversary CD and DVD compilation featuring the sights and
sounds of the Holiday Train in its first successful decade. The package is exclusively available at Holiday Train events.
Canadian Country Music Association Male Artists of the Year, Johnny Reid, and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, Tracey Brown,
headline the Canadian Holiday Train band this year. Juno Award winner Melanie Doane and blues-rocker Shaun Verreault
headline the U.S. Holiday Train in selected Canadian cities as well. The Holiday Train bands are backed up with talented musicians
from across Canada.
The Holiday Train stops in Toronto and Vaughan tonight before heading north. The U.S. Holiday Train stops in Cambridge and London
tonight and Windsor tomorrow night before heading to Chicago and the American Midwest. A complete itinerary is available on CP's Holiday Train
website.
