Train Collision Sends Man to Hospital
Norfolk Manitoba - A man has been sent to hospital
following a collision involving a vehicle and a train in the rural municipality of North Norfolk on Wednesday.
At about 4 p.m., Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to an accident when a northbound pick-up truck and a westbound train
collided at an uncontrolled railway crossing on Rd. 60 W. in the RM of North Norfolk.
When police arrived, MacGregor Ambulance was already on the scene.
Canadian Pacific Railway Police Service also attended.
The driver of the pick-up truck, a 57-year-old man from Montreal, Que., was transported to Portage District
General Hospital. He was then transferred to Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg where he is in stable condition.
No other injuries were reported by the train staff.
RCMP report the incident is still under investigation, with assistance from Canadian Pacific Railway Police
Service.
