Effort to Rebuild Nanaimo's Train Station Gets a Boost
Nanaimo Vancouver Island British Columbia - The effort to restore Nanaimo's historic E&N
Train Station took a few giant steps forward over the holidays, thanks to members of the Nanaimo business community.
The heritage revitalization project recently received a new web site, complements of Luke Griffin from First Choice Web Design.
The new site, www.nanaimoTrainStation.org, incorporates online donations as well as a blog to keep citizens apprised
of the progress to restore one of Nanaimo's oldest landmarks, badly damaged by fire in 2007.
Along with the new website, the project received the largest individual donation to date from right across from the station's location on Selby Street.
Andrew and Angela Lunny, of Lunny & Company Law Corporation, donated $5,000 to the cause after speaking to members of the Young Professionals of
Nanaimo, who have been helping with the project, at a community meeting.
