Gasification Will Lead to Illness
Kamloops British Columbia - Editor: I was led to believe Interior Health Authority was
responsible for the welfare of people and looked out for our health concerns.
I believed the same of the Ministry of Environment.
How naive of me.
If the Aboriginal Cogeneration Corporation's gassification proposal to burn railway ties to create electricity is not a health concern, why isn't company
president Kim Sigurdson keeping this wonderful opportunity in his backyard, namely Winnipeg ?
I care about my family's health. I care about the health of others. I care about the already-long waits for varied health-care services.
I proved that years ago when a group of determined marketing students from our local university helped me raise funds for a much-needed permanent MRI scanner.
Illness costs money. Illness changes people's lives. Illness affects entire families.
I know.
The IHA warns people about toxins related to smoking, yet toxins from railway ties are safe?
There are several reasons why the people of Kamloops and the surrounding area should be concerned, our health, and our property values.
Are we ready to speak up?
We can't if we cannot breathe the air or drink the water.
Diane Czyzewski.
