Rally Against Cogen Plant Saturday 30 Jan 2010

Kamloops British Columbia - Opponents of a plan to install a gasficatioin plant for the incineration of railway ties will rally on Saturday, 30 Jan 2010.
 
An earlier news article did not specify which Saturday.
 
The rally will start at 10:30 a.m. at City Hall, and will march to Terry Lake's office at 618 Tranquille Road at 12 noon.
 
A spokesman said petitions will be circulated in opposition to the plant, which will be operated by Aboriginal Cogeneration Corp. under a permit from the Ministry of Environment.
 
"The message of this rally is to inform our MLA, the MOE, and our government that we do not want the burning of coal-tar creosote, which is a carcinogen, in our city."
