Revelstoke Incident Cleanup Photos
Revelstoke British Columbia - Cleanup has commenced for two trains that collided on the small
train overpass over Victoria Road at about 10:30 p.m. Monday.
Although there hasn't been official confirmation, it appears that one eastbound train was stopped on the tracks, its end sitting on or very near the overpass,
when another eastbound train came along and rear ended it.
The following morning, one empty potash car appeared damaged in the crash. Part of one end of the car was ripped open and its wheels were laying nearby. It
was laying on its side near the tracks, but workers said they had pushed it over with heavy machinery to get it out of the way.
About a dozen other rail workers spent about an hour getting another potash car back on the track. They used a large front-end loader to lift the wheels up
and set it on the track before an engine pulled it away.
