Arson-Accused Teen Back in Court

Peterborough Ontario - The next scheduled court date for a 14-year-old charged in connection with a bridge fire in East City is 9 Aug 2010.
 
Represented by lawyer Trevor Burgis, the teen was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice today (Monday) but the matter was put over until 9 Aug 2010.
 
Mr. Burgis is waiting on a Section 34 report, which is medical or psychological assessment under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
 
Peterborough Fire Department originally estimated the damage from the 13 Apr 2010 bridge fire to be around $750,000.
 
Canadian Pacific Railway, which owns the wooden bridge over the railway tracks, hasn't yet said when the bridge will re-open.
