18-Year-Old Hit by Train in Canmore

Canmore Alberta - A young Canmore man was taken to Foothill Hospital in critical condition by air ambulance after being hit by a train early Thursday morning.
 
The man was hit at a crossing in Canmore at the intersection of Railway Avenue and Benchlands Trail just after 3 a.m., according to Canadian Pacific Railway spokeswoman Breanne Feigel.
 
"CP is investigating, along with RCMP, the reason why a pedestrian was hit," Feigel said, adding the bells, lights, and crossing arms were all working and the train crew blew the whistle before hitting him.
 
Friends identified the injured man as Wesley Dominic, who turned 18 on Wednesday.
 
Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
