Calgary Plans Canada Day Events for All Ages
Canadian Pacific Railway number 2816, the Empress.
Calgary Alberta - Calgary is ready to ring in Canada's 143rd birthday on Thursday, with
celebrations all over the city, including a chance to proudly proclaim you're a Canadian at Fort Calgary.
Celebrations at Fort Calgary, the birthplace of the city, kick off at 9 a.m. with a free pancake breakfast followed by live entertainment from seven local
bands.
The Empress steam locomotive is making an appearance across the tracks from Fort Calgary at Canadian Pacific Railway between noon and 4 p.m. It's the 125th
anniversary of the Last Spike, so people can hop on board the restored 1930s train and help the Children's Wish Foundation, too.
