Parks Canada Hard at Work on Rogers Pass Memory Garden
Parks Canada welder and artist Don Streeter puts the finishing touches on the Rogers Pass Memory
Bell.
Revelstoke British Columbia - The Rogers Pass Memory Garden is nearing completion and will be
ready for it's official unveiling at a memorial ceremony 15 Aug 2010.
The garden is designed to honour the history of Rogers Pass, with three steel reliefs commemorating the forging of the railway, the construction of the
highway, and the 1910 avalanche that killed 58 people.
Rob Buchanan, the Parks Canada artist who designed the memorial, sent the Times Review several photos of the construction that we are happy to share.
Stay tuned for the 11 Aug 2010 of the Times Review for a full feature on the ceremony and on Railway Days.
