Nineteen-Year-Old Man Killed by Train
A pedestrian is dead after he was struck by a train Sunday morning near
Quigley Road and Albright Road.
Hamilton Ontario - A 19-year-old man is dead after he was struck by a train Sunday morning in
the east end.
Police say the incident happened near Quigley Road and Albright Road just after 7:30 a.m.
The 19-year-old had been on the rail tracks when the train struck him, Staff Sergeant Glenn Jarvie said.
Hamilton police's collision reconstruction unit, Canadian Pacific Railway police, and the coroner are investigating the collision, Jarvie said.
The pedestrian has been identified, but his family has requested to not release his name, Jarvie said.
Police say the victim didn't have any vital signs when emergency personnel arrived.
The accident scene was taped off and barricades were up at nearby intersections, but the roads are now open.
