CP Rail Repairs to Close Intersection
Ex-Canadian Pacific Railway station at Moose Jaw.
Moose Jaw Saskatchewan - The intersection at High Street West and Ninth Avenue will be closed
off to Moose Javian motorists on Thursday, as Canadian Pacific Railway crews replace the rubber cushions that separate the rails from the road.
On Tuesday, local track maintenance supervisor Ed Larmour told the Times-Herald all the moisture this year has caused fine silt to work its way in between the
current rubber separators and cause them to warp at the intersection.
Therefore, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, CP workers will close off the intersection and place new rubber separators next to the steel tracks, with
pavement running through the middle, which is something new for that particular intersection.
While the intersection will be closed all day for repairs, Larmour said what replaces the current warped intersection should last a very long time. He added
that is the only CP intersection in Moose Jaw that will require such improvements.
