Murder Strikes on the Prairies
Rehearsals underway in Ladysmith.
Ladysmith Vancouver Island British Columbia - There are two killers in the world premiere of a
locally written play, which hits the stage at Cedar Community Hall this month.
Yellow Point Drama Group presents "Blizzard", written by Barrie Baker, as the season opener for the theatre group.
Blizzard is set in the 1940s in Lucky, Saskatchewan, and a small group of people are trapped in a train station. A murderer is on the loose, but the small
group of stranded travellers and station employees also need to contend with freezing to death in the frigid temperatures.
"The weather is an absolute threat," said Baker, noting the group of people, which include Canadian Pacific Railway workers and police, have only a
small potbelly stove to keep warm by. "That's the first concern."
