Busy Times Ahead for Waterford
Waterford Ontario - On 7 Nov 2010, Canadian Pacific Railway will celebrate the 125th anniversary
of the driving of the last spike, which marked the completion of Canada's first continental railroad and a new chapter in our country's history.
CPR is celebrating this milestone by presenting a legacy gift to various museums throughout Canada.
Waterford's Spruce Row Museum announced that it accepted a CPR legacy gift, which includes several silver pieces, including an 11-inch bread tray and a
half-pint coffee pot dating as early as 1910 and engraved with the CPR initials, as well as crockery and flatware all bearing the CPR script or logo.
The donation has an appraised at $1000.
The silver pieces are on display at the museum at 159 Nichol St.
