Windsor Ontario - A Lakeshore man is facing a careless driving charge after a train slammed into
his pick-up truck Friday morning.
Robert Weir, 46, also suffered non-life threatening injuries and had to be extricated from the mangled wreck of his Dodge Ram after the collision.
It happened around at 8:07 a.m. on the railway crossing at 567 Golfview Drive in Lakeshore.
Provincial police said Weir's blue dodge Ram pick-up was travelling southbound on Golfview Drive, failed to stop, and ran into the eastbound CP train.
Weir was transported to Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Golfview Drive was closed for about one and a half hours.
