Lacombe County Alberta - A Lacombe County grater was left stuck in a snowbank after being struck
by a train.
According to Red Deer Rural Cpl. Andrew Shepherd the county grater operator was having difficulty getting across a railway crossing near RR. 27-1 at around
9:45 a.m. this morning.
"The train collided with the rear-end of the grater and spun him around," Shepherd said, adding that he believes ice was the issue.
"I think he couldn't get traction and get going fast enough to clear the intersection."
Shepherd said nobody involved in the incident suffered injuries.
In terms of damage, Shepherd said he didn't see much on the grater.
"The train does have some damage to the lead engine," he added.
