19 Railway Cars Jump Tracks Near Vulcan

Carmangay Alberta - Authorities are at the scene of a train derailment involving several empty
rail cars in a rural area near Vulcan.
The RCMP said 19 cars from a Canadian Pacific freight train jumped the tracks at about 8 a.m. at Range Road 234 and Township Road 134 outside the village of
Carmangay, about 100 kilometres southeast of Calgary.
The RCMP, along with firefighters and peace officers from Vulcan County and Canadian Pacific officials went to the scene and closed the roads around the
derailment.
Crews determined none of the 19 cars contained any hazardous materials, but are still investigating the what caused the derailment.
No one was injured.
