A Story to Get Steamed About

Squamish British Columbia - The iconic Royal Hudson steam locomotive is out of service pending
costly upgrades.
West Coast Railway Association President Don Evans says the 70-year-old locomotive's certification has expired.
He says the Number 2860 needs several hundred thousand dollars worth of boiler upgrades. Money the Association doesn't have, "We will have to do some
fundraising on it. It's still owned by the Province of British Columbia on long-term lease to us. At this point Government has not come forward, but to be
perfectly honest, nor have we asked."
Evans says the engine will not operate any excursions this year, but he's confident enough money can be raised to return it to service in 2012.
