Derailment in Black Canyon

Black Canyon British Columbia - At approximately 9 p.m. on Monday, 9 May 2011, a westbound loaded CPR potash train derailed in Black Canyon.
 
There were no injuries.
 
By Wednesday morning, when this photo was taken, contractors had cleared wreckage from the right-of-way and were preparing the roadbed for new track.
 
Approximately 30 cars of the 142 car train were wrecked.
 
A wheel defect is the suspected cause.
